Story
A 105-year-old Christian movement for unity, justice, and peace, the Ohio Council of Churches works to strengthen relationships between church bodies while engaging in public witness that challenges structural racism, assaults on voting rights, education inequality, and the imposition of the death penalty, all in the name of Jesus Christ. Through ecumenical and interfaith worship and information sessions, our monthly newsletter, the delivery of Statehouse testimonies supporting the end of executions and gerrymandering, in-person seminars designed to reduce the stigma associated with mental health treatment, and leading the call for the public safety approaches that serve and protect all zip codes, the Ohio Council of Churches has given practical expression of the "beloved community" where God's vision of human flourishing sustains all people.
Other movements promote a "Christian" agenda that we believe do not reflect the love of Christ in the world. We believe that our voice is needed to demonstrate that we do heed the biblical call to love God and love neighbor. Your support on Giving Tuesday helps us to continue to this necessary work. No amount is too small. Every dollar helps us to keep our movement thriving.
